ALA Midwinter/ALA Annual

Empirical Librarians Conference

We are a small conference focused on librarians doing research and librarians supporting original research. Empirical librarians provides a great venue for learning, networking, and discussion about the many ways that research and librarianship thrive together.

ACRL Conference

The ACRL Conference is your once-every-two-years opportunity to access the best information, discover new ideas, and stay at the forefront of the profession. You’ll get irreplaceable opportunities to connect with your peers from all over the country and all over the globe, along with access to content all year long.

This is MLA’s premier event and draws more than 2,400 participants including medical librarians and other health information professionals, international attendees, and exhibitors. MLA ’19 offers a variety of opportunities for attending educational sessions, seeing the latest products in the Exhibit Hall, and networking with colleagues.

Charleston Conference

The Charleston Conference is an informal annual gathering of librarians, publishers, electronic resource managers, consultants, and vendors of library materials in Charleston, SC, in November, to discuss issues of importance to them all. It is designed to be a collegial gathering of individuals from different areas who discuss the same issues in a non-threatening, friendly, and highly informal environment. Presidents of companies discuss and debate with library directors, acquisitions librarians, reference librarians, serials librarians, collection development librarians, and many, many others. Begun in 1980, the Charleston Conference has grown from 20 participants in 1980 to almost 2,000 in 2017.

ARL Library Assessment

The conference goal is to build and further a vibrant library assessment community by bringing together interested practitioners and researchers who have responsibility or interest in the broad field of library assessment. The conference provides a mix of invited speakers, contributed papers and posters, and workshops that stimulate discussion and provide workable ideas for effective, practical and sustainable library assessment. This biennial conference builds on the success of the first six conferences held in Charlottesville, Virginia (2006, 2012); Seattle, Washington (2008, 2014); Baltimore, Maryland (2010); and Arlington, Virginia (2016).

Southeastern Library Assessment Conference

The Southeastern Library Assessment Conference provides an opportunity for those interested in advancing the library assessment and user experience conversation to gather together to share and discuss practical ideas and information.

We invite anyone involved in or who would like to learn more about assessment in libraries of all types. The conference location is the Southeastern U.S., but we welcome attendees and presenters from all regions. This conference is the collective effort of a small group of academic librarians in Georgia who identified a need for additional forums to connect with and learn from others engaged in library assessment.

edUi

Virginia Humanities is the state humanities council. We aim to tell the stories of all Virginians—or, better yet, find ways for people to tell their own stories. We want to connect Virginians with their history and culture and, in doing that, help bring us all a bit closer together.
