About the Grant

Experience Assessment (UX-A), was a project funded by the Institute of Museum and Library Services’ (IMLS) Laura Bush 21st Century Librarian grant program, was led by Drs. Carol Tenopir, Dania Bilal, and Rachel Fleming-May at the University of Tennessee. UX-A leverages an interdisciplinary team and robust facilities to provide education and experience to future leaders in assessment and user experience (UX) testing.

UX-A provided students with a variety of skills to improve information systems and to measure both implicit and explicit value of library and information services. These skills included user experience testing in our state-of-the-art UX laboratory and qualitative and quantitative methods to measure library services.

The UX-A focused specifically on creating new information sciences professionals who will be educated to perform assessment and UX research in both libraries and science-intensive information environments.
