  • Teaching Award for Innovative Technology given by College of Communication and Information, Univeristy of Tennessee (May 2010).

  • The pilot study for my dissertation research was published in HICSS - 39 2006 and was awarded the best research paper of the mini-track "Empirical Studies of Open Source Software Development" chaired by Dr Kevin Crowston (Syracuse University) and Dr Hala Annabi (Washington University)
  • I was awarded Lucile Huntington Wilkinson Fellowship for the academic year 2004 – 2005 to work on my dissertation research by the Graduate School of Library and Information Science, University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign.
  • I was awarded prestigious Dutch Government Fellowship for M.S. 1999 – 2001. This fellowship is awarded to the top 1% of the applicants from all over the world.
  • I was elected the First Female President of the International Students Organization at Wageningen University, the Netherlands 2000. I organized a large number of activities during my tenure as the President to bring together the international students and the Dutch Students. My work for the integration of the student community was appreciated by the university and it was covered multiple times by the local media.
  • I won multiple state and zonal debate championships in India during my undergraduate studies. I was National Debate Champion in India for two years (1996 & 1998)
  • During my undergraduate studies I was the chairperson of the organizing committee for the National Service Scheme (NSS) for two years for about 200 students of my class. I was very active in that committee and organized multiple events for the local community development during the two years. My efforts for these were rewarded with local media acclaim and aPresident’s Award for Best Voluntary Worker of the State in 1997.
