The College of Communication and Information Graduate Student Association (CCIGSA) is an organization that acts as a community to help PHD and MS students communicate and share their experiences with each another and the college administration.
The mission of CCIGSA is two-fold.
First, the association aims to provide a recognizable entity with which graduate students can identify and become involved. The process of identification serves as a place to establish and foster a consistent culture of research and scholarship amongst the graduate students in the program. The involvement process serves to establish and foster an appreciation of, and respect for, the commonweal in academic life.
Second, the association provides channels of communication amongst the graduate students and the College of Communication and Information (CCI). Communication occurring at regular association meetings during the academic year will establish a community for graduate students to share experiences, triumphs, and concerns. Communication occurring between the association’s representative graduate student leadership and the administration will establish a direct line of communication between CCI and graduate student interests.
