Candace White is an associate professor in the College of Communication and Information at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. She holds a doctorate in mass communication from the University of Georgia.
She has published research articles in Public Relations Review, Journal of Public Relations Research, New Media and Society, American Journal of Media Psychology, Journal of Advertising, Public Relations Strategist, Business Research Yearbook, Journalism & Mass Communication Educator, Women’s Studies in Communication, and Race, Gender, & Class. Dr. White has presented papers at meetings of the American Academy of Advertising, International Public Relations Research Conference, National Communication Association, Educators Academy of the Public Relations Society of America, International Communication Association, Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication and European Public Relations Education and Research Association.
Dr. White’s primary teaching area is public relations, with an interest in international communication. She has lectured at Cardiff University in Wales, Napier University in Edinburgh, Scotland, the University of Dubrovnik, Croatia, IULM, Milan, Italy, the University of Salzburg, Austria, and taught in the MBA program in Asolo, Italy at the Consortium Institute of Business and Management Analysis, of which UT is a member university.
She received the University of Tennessee National Alumni Association Outstanding Teaching Award in 2000, and won the College of Communications Outstanding Teaching Award in 1998 and again in 2002.
